Driver FAQ
Application
Where can I get help with the application?
Waze uses Google's support pages. Check their official help page, or ask your questions on the Community Forum.
Swiss motorways
When searching for a route through Switzerland, the application avoids motorways, why?
Swiss motorways require a pass called the "vignette". It costs CHF 40.- and must be stuck on the windshield. Without a vignette, the fine is CHF 200.-. Waze needs a confirmation that you own the vignette in order to suggest motorways in Switzerland. See Motorway vignette.
Road closures
A major event or roadworks will affect traffic in my area, how can I help?
Inform the local community. Post on the Waze Switzerland Forum, or send an e-mail to fermetures@waze-switzerland.ch (fr/it/en) or sperrungen@waze-switzerland.ch (de/en).
Speed cameras
Why are no fixed speed cameras reported on Waze in Switzerland?
Speed cameras have been disabled due to Swiss law. The feature will not be re-enabled unless the law changes.
Fuel prices
The fuel prices are wrong, what should I do?
The only way to update prices is to do it from the application, within a 500 m radius around the station: orange report button > fuel prices.
I reported wrong prices but nothing was corrected, why?
Map editors cannot update prices remotely: only people located less than 500 m from the station can do it via the application. Editors therefore close these reports without any action possible on their side.
